Climbing Before Walking

Maxwell’s walking skills are still a work in progress. He still has yet to take the bull by the horns and usually gets maxed out (pun intended) around three steps before going the way of his huge cranium.

Well, this morning we made a fort out of the steps to our roofdeck, which he was loving…so much he decided to climb it. I try to hold back my immediate fear emotion of him scaling the perilous stairs to let him explore until he finds his limits. Dadittude, I think it’s called. Well, he usually makes it up a step or two, but today he made it to the top. It seems the courage he lacks in his walking, he makes up for in his climbing. I’ve heard of babies skipping crawling and going right to walking, but climbing before walking? If only life were vertical…

Just think of how fast he’d be at climbing a rock wall? Max is hysterical. Love the pictures. Love you all to the moon and back.

    Love “Dadittude” .
Max told me, “I will walk when I’m good and ready!”
